چکیده
We study edge states in AB-stacked bilayer graphene (BLG) ribbon where the Chern number of corresponding two-dimensional (2D) bulk Hamiltonian is zero. The existence and topological features when two layers ended with same or different terminations (zigzag, bearded, armchair) are discussed. (non-dispersive bands near Fermi level) localized at nanoribbon that only exists certain range momentum $k_y$. Their level protected by chiral symmetry topology well described coupled Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) chains model, i.e., SSH ladder, based on bulk-edge correspondence one-dimensional (1D) systems. These zero-energy can exist whole $k_y$ region have zigzag bearded edges, respectively. Winding calculation shows a phase transition between distinct non-trivial phases crossing Dirac points. Interestingly, we find stacking configuration BLG important since they lead to unexpected without protection from both armchair-armchair case gap within away general case. influence interlayer next nearest neighbor (NNN) interaction bias also discussed fit realistic materials, which suggest robust

Dimensionality Effects on the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Model
A low order diagrammatic study of the dimension dependent Su-SchriefferHeeger model Hamiltonian in the weak electron-phonon coupling regime is presented. Exact computation of both the charge carrier effective mass and the electron spectral function shows that electrons are good quasiparticles in the antiadiabatic limit but new features emerge in the adiabatic and intermediate regime, where the ...

I propose a path integral description of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Hamiltonian, both in one and two dimensions, after mapping the real space model onto the time scale. While the lattice degrees of freedom are classical functions of time and are integrated out exactly, the electron particle paths are treated quantum mechanically. The method accounts for the variable range of the electronic hoppin...

متن کاملObservation of the topological soliton state in the Su–Schrieffer–Heeger model
The Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model, which captures the most striking transport properties of the conductive organic polymer trans-polyacetylene, provides perhaps the most basic model system supporting topological excitations. The alternating bond pattern of polyacetylene chains is captured by the bipartite sublattice structure of the SSH model, emblematic of one-dimensional chiral symmetric t...
متن کاملAB-stacked square-like bilayer ice in graphene nanocapillaries.
Water, when constrained between two graphene sheets and under ultrahigh pressure, can manifest dramatic differences from its bulk counterparts such as the van der Waals pressure induced water-to-ice transformation, known as the metastability limit of two-dimensional (2D) liquid. Here, we present result of a new crystalline structure of bilayer ice with the AB-stacking order, observed from molec...
